Subject: [IML] AMIGA : Effects
I have Imagine 4 fp running on my Amiga1200 030 with 32mb of fast ram
and 2mb of chip ram. I wish to use the explosion and shredder effects
but whenever I assign them they won't even come up in wireframe. I have
waited for hours in the stage editor looking only at a BUSY icon while
scenes load up and when I give up and try to render it I get an error
message. DOes anyone know how to fix this problem?

The Shredder effect is real slow, so try waiting a bit longer for that one
;) However, explosion.ifx is really quite nippy. What kind of object are
you applying them too? They wont work on the perfect sphere, as it's not a
polygon model. Try them with a default plane, or a primitive sphere or
summat. You need a few or more polygons to for the fx to do anything.

Either together or on their one, either way they don't work.

Try creating a new project with, for example, a default sphere. Go to the
action editor: Setup 10 frames and assign the explode effect to the sphere
(over the 10 frames), accepting the default parameters of the effect.
Save the changes and goto the stage editor. Select make from the animate menu,
and press return in the window which appears next. Click on full objects only,
and wait for Imagine to generate the 10 frames. When it is finished, select
play loop from the animate menu and watch your sphere explode.

Perhaps you have attached the shredder effect to a complex object? (it is a
very processor intensive effect...)
